I know Nirvana catches a lot of flack for being overrated, but this is the single most comforting line in rock I’ve ever read.
It goes a bit beyond the trite “be yourself” sort of message. It’s not only saying that, but it’s also an invitation. Being yourself is all well and good, but ultimately, if you’re a weirdo or a misfit, you’re probably on your own (this is the trade-off, you see).
To be welcomed into a group/place because you are the way you are? Earth-shattering.
